Citadel star Priyanka Chopra is in the mood for celebration. The actress and singer’s brother, Siddharth Chopra, 36, has just tied the knot with actress Neelam Upadhyaya, 31, in a star-studded ceremony in Mumbai, India.

According to the Hindustan Times, guests included Priyanka, her husband Nick Jonas and their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas; Priyanka’s cousin, actress Parineeti Chopra and her husband; politician Raghav Chadha; and Bollywood veteran Rekha. Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s wife Nita and her daughter-in-law Shloka Ambani were also there.

Per The Indian Express, Siddharth and Neelam met on a dating app. The couple celebrated their engagement through a traditional Indian “roka” ceremony in April last year, followed by another pre-wedding ritual called “hastakshar” in August. Singer-songwriter Jonas even performed at the celebratory “sangeet” event before the pair’s nuptials, as revealed in an Instagram video shared by his wife.

Unlike his famous sister, Siddharth is not a part of the entertainment industry. According to GQ India, he graduated from Switzerland’s prestigious Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, where he studied culinary arts, and launched now-defunct restaurant The Mugshot Lounge in the Indian city of Pune. In 2023, he teased a new agricultural endeavour, Chopra Farms, aimed at creating a “more natural and sustainable life”, as he wrote on Instagram. Siddharth also manages his sister’s production house, Purple Pebble Pictures, per DNA India.

Siddharth reportedly popped the question to two of his ex-girlfriends. According to Bollywood Life, he became engaged to his girlfriend of three years, Kanika Mathur, in 2013 and the couple even had a formal roka in 2014. However, a source revealed that Siddharth wanted to “focus on his career” and the relationship ended.

Then in 2019, Siddharth got down on one knee for Ishita Kumar and the engagement party was attended by Priyanka and Jonas. After that engagement was called off the same year, the Chopra matriarch, film producer Madhu Chopra, told SpotboyE that Siddharth “wasn’t ready for marriage yet and needed more time”.
