Onijah Andrew Robinson went to Pakistan for love, allegedly

MSN reports Robinson, who is from New York, left America for Pakistan in October last year after falling in love with Nidal Ahmed Memon online. Per MSN, Robinson was supposed to meet her 19-year-old boyfriend and get married. Local media outlet AAJ reports when Robinson arrived in Karachi, Memon fled after his family realised the age difference between the pair and refused to agree to the marriage. According to Tribune, Robinson used a filter during her online chats with Memon, which showed her to be a white woman with blonde hair.

Robinson refused to leave

India Times reported Robinson found a supporter in local activist and YouTuber Zaffar Abbas, who first shared her story online, leading to government official Kamran Khan Tessori to extend her visa and arrange for her a flight home. According to AAJ, Robinson claimed she was “stranded” in Karachi after her visa expired and she had no money. The situation quickly escalated as Robinson’s version of events changed several times, with the New York native giving interviews to the media, locals and setting up press conferences, per AAJ.
