The president of Universal Animation Studios Jeffrey Katzenberg and his wife Marilyn have donated US$5 million to aid wildfire relief in Los Angeles.
The sum was donated to the Motion Picture & Television Foundation, an organisation that offers social services to workers in the entertainment industry.

“The wildfire devastation is unlike anything Los Angeles has ever faced, and we must act urgently to help people in immediate need,” he said in a statement. “Marilyn and I are heartbroken for our friends and colleagues whose lives have been turned upside down, especially in the industry that has meant so much to us, and we hope our contribution can help provide comfort and resources in this moment.”

Born in 1948, Marilyn, 76, was a kindergarten teacher when she married Katzenberg, 74, in 1975.
Now she is a writer and producer, according to her IMDB biography. She is best known for producing and writing the story for the 1985 animated film Happily Ever After. Her listing also shows that she funded 1998 baseball documentary The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg.
