Meet Brittney Green, who’s divorcing The Price is Right’s George Gray: the maths teacher stood by Gray through 3 heart attacks, but the pair are splitting because of ‘irreconcilable differences’
The Price is Right announcer and former Weakest Link host once said he was ‘just absolutely crazy in love’ with Green, but the two split last August after 5 years of marriage
Television personality George Gray, best known as the announcer of The Price is Right, might be on the market again.
After more than five years of marriage to Brittney Green, the couple have decided to go their different ways. Per Us Weekly, they separated last August, blaming “irreconcilable differences”. However, they don’t seem to have ended things on a sour note, Gray telling TMZ they had been working on their relationship by attending couple’s counselling and jointly made the call to divorce. They have no children.
So, just who is George Gray’s soon-to-be ex-wife?
What does Brittney do for work?
Brittney Green teaches maths at a high school, per TMZ. Not much else is known about her professional or personal life because she prefers to keep it all under wraps. Accordingly, her Instagram account is set to private. “If I don’t know you personally [then] don’t request to follow me, I won’t accept … Thanks,” her bio reads.
How did she meet George Gray?
George Gray and Brittney Green’s meet-cute happened at a bar in 2015, per Us Weekly. She was in the audience for the filming of an episode of The Price is Right, after which she decided to wind down at a bar with friends. Green spotted the group and joined them. “I wound up hanging out and drinking and having fun and just chatting with the three of them for hours,” he recalled. However, the chance encounter didn’t immediately spark a romance. In fact, Green and Gray weren’t in contact with each other for a year. It was only in 2016 that they became an item.
She changed Gray’s mind about marriage
Although Gray always claimed he wasn’t “the marrying type”, in 2018 he proposed to Green in Thailand because he was “just absolutely crazy in love with her”, per Us Weekly. “For me, I never felt the need to get married … and so, that’s why I know it’s right. It’s not something I needed to do – it’s something I really want to do,” he said. In 2019 they exchanged vows in Tucson, Arizona, with Gray’s brother officiating at the ceremony at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa.
