Jessica Simpson just celebrated her mum’s 65th birthday with a post describing her light as ‘the brightest of all-assembled by the multitudes of your individual blessings’

Jessica Simpson is celebrating her mum’s 65th birthday – and fans barely recognised her in a recent photo.

“Happy Birthday to my mommy – the giver of abundance, love, passion, and purpose,” the “With You” singer wrote in part of a lengthy caption dedicated to Tina Simpson earlier this week. “Your light is the brightest of all-assembled by the multitudes of your individual blessings that create iridescent and unique sparks!”

“This is Tina?????” wrote one shocked netizen on the post. “Is your mom in the room with us? Who is this?” quipped another. Another user mistook Tina for her other daughter, Ashlee Simpson. “I thought that was Ashley!” they shared, adding a fire emoji.

Tina replied to her 44-year-old daughter’s sweet post with a loving comment. “I love you Jessica thx you for such a beautiful tribute, I am so grateful for my family and friends,” she wrote. “Thank you all for the beautiful birthday wishes! I Love You All. This is 65, hello senior discounts!”

The selfie comes just one week after Jessica Simpson announced her split from husband Eric Johnson after 10 years of marriage. “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she shared in a statement with People magazine on January 14. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
