Netflix’s The Night Agent is back, but who is Gabriel Basso? The all-action actor skydived into an NFL game to promote season 2, played J.D. Vance in Hillbilly Elegy and got his break in Super 8
Basso, who plays FBI agent Peter Sutherland, has a black belt in karate, comes from a family of actors, and has been commissioned by Keanu Reeves to create artwork
Netflix’s blockbuster political action-thriller The Night Agent is back – and it’s bigger than ever. The second season of the show, which is based on Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name, comes out on January 23, with Gabriel Basso returning as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, along with new faces including Berto Colon and Brittany Snow. The new episodes were mostly shot in New York, with some scenes filmed in Washington and Thailand, per Deadline.
To promote the highly anticipated second season, Basso pulled off a stunt worthy of his character. Amplifying the hype during NFL Christmas Gameday Live, Basso skydived out of a Netflix blimp into the Houston NRG Stadium to flag up the forthcoming series.
“Three words: I will live,” Basso says in the behind-the-scenes video for the skydive, which shows him making some of his 25 practice jumps. Having nailed his skydiving certification, Basso then made the blimp jump look effortless. Netflix also teased that a similar stunt appears in a future episode of the show.
