Meet Mitchell Slaggert, the heartthrob behind Landman’s Ryder: the actor modelled for Calvin Klein and Versace, and starred in the Gossip Girl reboot before landing a role on the Taylor Sheridan drama

Actor Mitchell Slaggert is the latest addition to the already impressive cast list of Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ series Landman.
Since the finale of Yellowstone’s season five aired on December 15, fans of the neo-Western show have turned their attention to Landman to quench their Taylor Sheridan thirst. A world away from the Duttons’ Yellowstone Ranch, Landman takes fans to the heart of West Texas to look at “a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs”, per Paramount+.

The series stars big names such as Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, Jon Hamm as his boss, and Demi Moore.
Slaggert, 30, makes his first appearance on the show during its seventh episode, which aired on December 22. He plays the role of teen quarterback Ryder Sampson, a love interest for 17-year-old Ainsley, played by Michelle Randolph, 27.

He’s a model
Slaggert hails from Fayetteville, Georgia. Growing up, he dreamed of joining the US Marine Corps, but a car accident when he was seven years old left him with only one kidney and he was unable to enlist.
A mechanical engineering student at the University of North Carolina, with plans to join the US Department of Homeland Security, Slaggert caught the eye of a casting agent – the same man who discovered actress Jennifer Lawrence – on the streets of Wilmington, North Carolina.
