Meet Anna Ermakova: more than Boris Becker’s daughter from his infamous post-Wimbledon hook-up in Nobu, the Courtauld grad is a model, dance champ and singer whose debut album came out this year
The 24-year-old was born after Becker notoriously stepped out on his marriage in a 1999 one-night-stand, but now, she’s carving her own path as a model, reality TV dance champion and singer
Soon after being knocked out of Wimbledon by Pat Rafter in June 1999, in what was his last match before retiring, details emerged of a one-night stand Becker had in London. It was later revealed that the infamous “broom cupboard” hook-up had resulted in a child, a daughter named Anna Ermakova.
Over the years, Becker – who spent eight months in a British jail after being found guilty of four charges of insolvency – has built a relationship with his daughter.
Here’s what we know about Anna Ermakova, and how she’s created a name for herself away from her father’s fame.
Boris Becker’s infamous “back room” fling
Becker has spoken many times about his fling with Russian model Angela Ermakova, Anna’s mother. In his 2003 autobiography, Hold On, Stay a While, he said Ermakova was a waitress when they met. Becker detailed how while his first wife, Barbara Feltus, was in hospital with pregnancy-related discomfort while carrying their son Elias, he headed to the Mayfair branch of Nobu in London after being knocked out of the Wimbledon tournament. He said that he and Ermakova made eye contact at the restaurant and when she went to the toilet, he followed, and they had sex in a “small back room”.
In his documentary Boom! Boom! The World vs Boris Becker, the disgraced tennis star said he received a fax from Ermakova months later and flew to London to meet her. She told him she was pregnant.
