They met at university and have been married since 1983 – she has been by his side through cancer, heart disease and multiple sclerosis … but why did Trump cheer on his exit from Fox News?

Long-time Fox News host Neil Cavuto has made it clear that he is not leaving journalism, just the network he has been the face of for almost three decades.

Best known for his show Your World with Neil Cavuto, the conservative news anchor confirmed he was leaving Fox, with his last show being aired in December, per The New York Times.

There has been speculation that Cavuto and other presenters, including at other networks, have been asked to accept salary cuts, per the Daily Mail. At the same time, Cavuto was known to be critical of president-elect Donald Trump on the conservative-leaning channel. Trump himself celebrated Cavuto’s exit, posting on Truth Social: “Good news for America! Neil Cavuto, the Lowest-Rated Anchor on Fox, by far, is leaving – should have happened a long time ago!”

For his part, Cavuto thanked fans for the support when he signed off from the network for the last time. “I might have been unlucky in health, but very lucky for the support I got here and the things I got to do here, because I got to do what I love to do. Report the news, not shout the news, not blast the news and not, well, call names. Just call balls and strikes.”

They met at university

Fulling met Cavuto while the were both studying at St Bonaventure University, per The Sun. She was a reporter at the student newspaper and he was her copy editor, elaborates NJ.com. Cavuto explained how, in the early days of their relationship, he and Fulling battled financially. “When I got my first job in New York, we couldn’t afford to live in Manhattan,” he said. “We lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Nutley [in New Jersey].”
