Meet Maggie Baird, mum of Billie Eilish and Finneas: she had supporting roles in Friends, The X-Files, Bones and Curb Your Enthusiasm … and defended her kids against nepo baby claims

The actress has appeared as an extra on TV shows while hubby Patrick O’Connell was in Iron Man – now she tours with Team Eilish and shares her daughter’s vegan lifestyle
If this is coming to you as a shocker, we don’t blame you. Chatter about Eilish and her brother Finneas being nepo babies only cameabout very recently after a clip of their mother, Maggie Baird, in an episode of Friends went viral.

Addressing the nepo baby controversy, Baird defended her children in an interview with Glamour, revealing that she and her husband are “working class actors” and never had a taste of the super stardom that their children enjoy. “Did you know that I got that episode of Friends because I was about to lose my health insurance?” she told the outlet candidly. Now, she is a part of Team Eilish and tours with her famous daughter.
Baird may not have cracked the Hollywood formula like her Grammy and Oscar-winning kids, but she is one of their biggest inspirations. Here’s what you need to know about Maggie Baird.
Maggie Baird is a screenwriter

Baird co-wrote and co-produced the film Life Inside Out (2013), starring her husband and son. She revealed in the Glamour interview that she financed the film through a Kickstarter campaign. Her ultimate goal was “to show my kids that you could make something happen. You don’t have to wait for somebody to say yes to you”.
Her daughter wishes she was more famous

Eilish said in an interview with Rolling Stone that she dreams of making a movie one day and casting her parents in it. “My mum can do all these voices and characters – she’s incredible,” the “Ocean Eyes” singer said, adding that she wished her parents got the recognition they deserve.
