Meet Lady Gaga’s dad, Joe Germanotta: the Donald Trump and Elon Musk supporter just criticised Kamala Harris … but praised his daughter’s performance at Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021
While he and his pop star daughter may not see eye to eye in politics, he’s a supportive dad who paid her rent when she dropped out of college to pursue music
While Gaga has historically backed Democratic candidates and even sang the national anthem at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, she has yet to endorse anyone in the race so far. However, her father is making the rounds on different Fox News shows, singing praises for Trump and calling him a “patriot”.
Towards the end of his appearance on the segment, Germanotta restated his endorsement of Trump and also thanked Elon Musk for allowing “free speech” on X (formerly Twitter).
So what do we know about Lady Gaga’s father? Read on to find out.
Joe Germanotta owns a famed restaurant in New York City
Germanotta is a restaurateur who owns Joanne Trattoria, an Italian restaurant in New York City. The 67-year-old suggested that his business suffered a loss because of the current Biden and Harris administration.
“Six years ago, I was going to have the best year we ever had at Joanne before Covid,” he said on Fox & Friends. “And when I say best year, it was 25 per cent more than any other year.”
“My clientele, my customers, the ones that used to come once a week, now they come once every three weeks,” he said.
Before that, Germanotta, a Michigan State University graduate, held the position of chief executive at Guest Wi-fi, a company that specialised in installing Wi-fi services in hotels.
