Having previously declared that he was leaving the franchise, the Iron Man actor shocked the world when he announced that he would be rejoining the fictional universe to portray villain Victor von Doom (aka Doctor Doom) at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 27. “New mask, same task,” Downey said as he came onto the panel. “What did I tell ya? I like playing complicated characters.”

Indio Downey was born in 1993 to Robert Downey Jr and his then-wife, American singer-songwriter and model Deborah Falconer, per People. The couple were married from 1992 to 2004 – though separated much earlier. Downey Jr tied the knot with his current wife, Susan Downey, in 2005.
