Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian has just revealed that he’s been diagnosed with Lyme disease, despite having no symptoms, ABC News reports.
According to the CDC, Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that is contracted by people through the bite of blacklegged ticks. Symptoms can include fatigue, headaches and skin rashes but if left untreated, it can spread to the joints, the heart and the nervous system.
“Doing a full battery of health scans, tests, etc, and found out I have Lyme disease,” Ohanian wrote on X on Tuesday. “Wild. No symptoms, thankfully, but gonna treat.”
Here’s what we know about Alexis Ohanian.
Where is Alexis Ohanian from?
Ohanian was born in Brooklyn, New York, and has Armenian roots, per Aurora Prize. “I ended up being born in Brooklyn, but I could’ve been born in Yerevan, or probably somewhere in Western Armenia. I want my knowledge to help as many people as possible, but especially my fellow Armenians,” he said, per the website.
