David Copperfield is the world’s wealthiest and most successful magician, and has enjoyed a decades-long career enacting some of the most mind-blowing stunts and illusions in history.
The New Jersey native, whose birth name is David Seth Kotkin, has in fact been so successful that Celebrity Net Worth reports that today he is worth a staggering US$1 billion – a status he reportedly reached in July 2018.

Recently however, per the Guardian, the entertainer’s integrity has been called into question as 16 women have come forward to accuse Copperfield of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour over the course of several decades. It has been alleged that the illusionist even drugged women before engaging in sexual relations with them without their consent. Copperfield and his legal team have denied the allegations.

At the height of his international fame in the 1990s, Copperfield was famously engaged to German supermodel Claudia Schiffer. In an early 2000s interview with Canoe, Schiffer claimed that it was the couple’s “work schedules that ended the relationship”.
Some years after the split from Schiffer in 2006, Copperfield met his current partner, Chloe Gosselin. So what do we know about the French model-turned-shoe designer?
Let’s take a closer look at the lady who stole the magician’s heart:
She used to be a model

Gosselin was born on August 22, 1984, in Dreux, France. According to an interview with Zoe Magazine, she attended the fine arts programme at the prestigious Belgian School of Lacambre. She then went on to enjoy an international career as a model before returning to study in both Milan and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Describing her transition from fashion model to shoe designer, Gosselin said: “I used to draw both clothing and shoes as a child. But, it is much later, after a bachelor in fine arts and a modelling career, that I decided to be a shoe designer. To me, shoes are the perfect bridge between art and fashion.”
She’s a successful shoe designer

In 2016, two years after launching her eponymous shoe brand, Chloe Gosselin, the model-turned-designer was a finalist for the esteemed CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, an initiative that was set up in the wake of September 11 to support up-and-coming creative talent in the fashion industry. Understandably, Gosselin relished the opportunity.
Talking to Coveteur at the time, Gosselin expressed her excitement on the one hand, and disbelief on the other: “It’s a dream to be able to do it, but still to this day I can’t believe I’m in.”

Since then, the Chloe Gosselin brand has expanded into a thriving fashion accessory business. To ascertain just how much Gosselin has flourished in the industry, one need only look at the brand’s A-list clientele. Her stunning shoes have been worn by some of the most famous names in not only the entertainment industry, but also in politics, art and fashion. The long list of celebs who’ve worn Gosselin’s designs include Taylor Swift, Nicole Kidman, Meghan Markle, Tori Amos, Dua Lipa and Shania Twain, per Fashion Week Daily.
The 39-year-old is also friends with fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, according to US media. Gosselin said “Sometimes I have to pinch myself because of course she is my friend, but she is also one of my biggest supporters.”
She and David have a daughter together

The successful designer and her billionaire partner share a daughter, Sky, who was born in 2010. In 2022, in support of women’s abortion rights, Gosselin posted a picture of herself pregnant with Sky. In the caption, Gosselin commented on her journey as a mother: “12 years ago I made the choice to become a mother. It has been the most incredible and life changing adventure to raise Sky. This right to choose is now under attack … let’s unite and say no.”
She really loves horses

In addition to her love of fashion, design and family, Gosselin is clearly an equestrian and all-round lover of horses. She regularly shares snapshots on her Instagram of herself with her own horse, Arie. Her Instagram profile also states that she’s an ambassador for American Wild Horse Conservation, a non-profit that works to protect wild horses.
