Fans were gobsmacked to learn that even Avengers: Endgame star Tom Holland has roots in showbiz through his dad Dominic Holland, who has worked as a comedian and writer

The more you look into it, the more you’ll realise that many of Hollywood’s biggest talents happen to have convenient familial connections who could’ve given them a leg up in the industry.

Of course, not all actors have these links, but certainly a lot do – and we mean a lot. Even the most unexpected ones. Like, did you know Emma Roberts’ aunt is none other than the iconic Julia Roberts? Or that Nicolas Cage is the son of August Coppola – the brother of Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola?!

Yup. The reality is that many of today’s most famous faces were somehow already tied to the industry before they got their first acting job and became household names. That’s why fans were gobsmacked when they found out that Tom Holland, the wholesome “guy next door” heartthrob from the Spider-Man franchise, is actually the child of a famous British comedian.

As reported by British media on January 25, fans were recently left in disbelief when they discovered that Dominic Holland, 56, a well-recognised author and broadcaster, raised the 27-year-old actor.

“Why have I only just learned who Tom Holland’s dad is? I would not have guessed that,” wrote one netizen on X, formerly Twitter. Another commented, “Nepo baby. What a shocker.”

While they’re not necessarily discrediting Tom’s acting talents, of which he has plenty, some are finding it hard to look at him the same way after knowing he’s likely always had convenient connections through his father.
