How Piers Morgan went from praising Meghan Markle to trolling her – the former Good Morning Britain personality met his ‘amazing friend’ on Twitter but things got sour after Prince Harry’s wedding

- Following the release of Netflix’s explosive Harry & Meghan docuseries, the media has been quick to criticise the couple – especially British TV personality Piers Morgan
- Morgan is known for accusing Markle of lying and even stormed off the set of his show over a debate about the Suits actress once – but before all that, they were ‘friends’ until she ‘ghosted’ him

2015: Piers Morgan and Meghan Markle first meet through Twitter

The 57-year-old had started watching the US series Suits and then followed several of the cast members on Twitter. Markle, 41, followed him back, and sent him a direct message, writing that she was a “big fan” of his.
Morgan even shared an Elle magazine essay Markle wrote, describing her experience growing up with a white father and black mother, and how it shaped her sense of self, and called it “brilliant”.
That was the beginning of a sweet friendship that has now turned sour.

“Great to finally meet you too @meghanmarkle,” Morgan wrote on Twitter.
