6 OTT celebrity motorhomes, ranked: from Leonardo DiCaprio’s glamorous RV to Will Smith and Mariah Carey’s giant double deckers, who’s got the most expensive trailer?
- Leonardo DiCaprio’s US$1.5 million RV is the epitome of opulence and comfort with heated marble floors, two fireplaces and a US$50,000 custom made shower
- Men in Black star Will Smith’s 3,900 sq ft trailer is two storeys high, with a screening space that has a 100-inch projector screen and can fit 30 people
It’s all but expected that A-list celebrities would boast a premium portfolio of properties, high-end fashion items and other enviable assets. In the world of showbiz, pricey possessions have come to represent the ultimate symbols of success.
While stars often spend their millions on things like massive estates and exclusive private jets, there are other equally opulent purchases the world’s wealthiest residents make, adding to the over-the-top luxury of their lives.
Take RVs, trailers or motorhomes, for example. Some of Hollywood’s most famous faces are known to have bought and customised their own vehicular villas, turning a standard motorhome into a portable palace.
Ranked in descending order of expensiveness, the following are six of the most outrageous celebrity motorhomes and trailers, each of which looks more like a five-star hotel on wheels than a spruced up automobile.
1. Will Smith’s The Heat: US$2.5 million
At a staggering cost of US$2.5 million, Will Smith’s customised trailer is a double-decker behemoth that spans over 3,900 sq ft of space. According to Outdoorsy and TheRichest, the trailer – affectionately dubbed The Heat – is equipped with lavish amenities including an expansive dining area, steam shower and even a screening space for 30 people with a 100-inch projector screen.
The film star’s trailer was custom built by Anderson Mobile Estates and features a fully-equipped kitchen with Italian cherry wood cabinets and arch windows. In fact, The Heat is so big that it needs to be transported by a semi-truck.
