Could Ivanka Trump, Kimberly Guilfoyle or Eric’s wife Lara become first lady? Why Donald’s daughters could fill Melania’s shoes if he’s re-elected
- If Donald Trump gets re-elected in 2024, no one would be surprised if Melania Trump decided not to join him in the White House – but might Ivanka or one of his daughter in laws? There’s historical precedent …
- Donald Trump Jr.’s beau Kimberly Guilfoyle already proved her devotion with her OTT speech in support of her future father-in-law, but Ivanka may be the most obvious choice

Harriet Lane acted as first lady to bachelor President James Buchanan, but was in fact his niece, and as many as 13 other women who were not spouses acted as first lady (dubbed “White House hostesses”) in the event that the president was a widower, or the real first lady could not fulfil her duties.

Eric Trump’s wife Lara
In early 2021, it was reported that Lara Trump was pondering a Senate run, and in May 2021 when she scored a job as a paid contributor on Fox News, it was believed Trump was using the platform to angle for her own career as a politician.
The 39-year-old, who slammed Vogue for snubbing Melania while she was first lady and putting Jill Biden on the cover instead – has plenty of experience working with her father-in-law.
She began helping out on the presidential campaign just one year after her and Eric tied the knot. The former TV producer then took on a more senior advisory role to Trump during his 2020 re-election campaign, and focused on digital fundraising and merchandising. Lara also interviewed Donald after he lost his re-election campaign.
