  • Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said that Donald was overprotective about how Ivanka earns her millions while preparing for a debate against Joe Biden
  • The former reality TV star also took offence when Full Frontal talk show host and comedian Samantha Bee referred to Ivanka with an expletive, blasting her on Twitter

The Trump family have had their issues over the years, from those Donald and Melania divorce rumours to tension among the Trump siblings. But when it’s others who are throwing the shade, the Trumps are quick to rally behind each other.
In particular, Donald has come to his daughter Ivanka’s defence many times. The former reality TV star has been protective about how she earns her millions, and also took offence when she was insulted by a prominent American comedian.

Here are five times that Donald defended his daughter Ivanka.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie revealed in his new book that even when he was helping Donald prepare for his debate against Joe Biden in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election, the then-president got defensive when Christie posed potential critical questions about Ivanka during the debate preparations.

Christie said, while in character as Biden during the mock debate, that Donald’s family “traded the influence they have in the White House to make tens of millions of dollars”. The statement reportedly caused the former US president to grow incensed, reports HuffPost.

Christie reportedly explained that he was just preparing Donald for what his rival might say, but apparently it was too touchy a subject and Donald refused to hear any more about Ivanka’s money.
