We’ve finished watching Bling Empire, Netflix’s newest binge-worthy reality series, and our mind is made up: Anna Shay is who we want to be.
Forget her rich millennial co-stars with their shaman readings and champagne brunches – we want to inherit a billion-dollar company, pretend to be an air hostess on our private jet to Paris, let it all hang out while a Dior rep dresses us, and take a sledgehammer to our wardrobe shelves. 
We all want to do it like Anna Shay. Tell me I’m wrong.

Here are four reasons why the millionaire matriarch is the real MVP of Bling Empire.

She’s loyal (and generous) to her friends

In just eight episodes of Bling Empire’s first season, audiences witnessed Shay’s tremendous generosity on at least three occasions.
In the first episode, Shay organises a surprise trip to Paris for Kelly Mi Li’s birthday. She takes Mi Li and then-boyfriend Andrew Gray on a private jet, treats the birthday girl to a lunch at Maison du Caviar, and gifts her a luxurious friendship ring.
The ring is from Boucheron’s Quatre Radiant collection, set with pavé diamonds in pink gold. The price? We estimate about US$7,100.
Another birthday bash is arranged for her French BFF Florent Bonadei, during which she presented him with a gift of diamonds.

Shay also treats Kevin Kreider to a personal Dior shopping experience at her mansion, gifting him a pair of B23 high-top trainers with the white and black Dior Oblique motif. The trainers retail for US$1,150.
The best part? When she says it’s not a test, and that she doesn’t want anything back in return, we actually believe her. “I gave this to you as my friend, and so I did it from my heart,” she says to Kreider.
She keeps it classy

Shay credits her mother, who had a Russian aristocratic grandfather, for her impeccable etiquette. Throughout the series, we rely on the millionaire matriarch to keep it dignified.
One major takeaway about dinner etiquette is that you don’t wear and flaunt a high jewellery piece that you know the host owns too (ahem, Christine Chiu).

… But she keeps it sexy at 60

Although Shay has made it clear that you should never bring up someone’s bedroom preferences in a public speech, we can’t help but be impressed by the heiress’ sex appeal.
Shay’s fashion choices also prove that there is no age limit when it comes to wearing leather or showing off some cleavage.
As the sage stylista says: “You don’t let the clothes wear you.”
She shows that introverts can still be a force to reckon with

“Shy socialite” might seem like an oxymoron, but Shay proves you can still call the shots without being a loudmouth.
When most of reality TV fuelled by dramatic confrontations, it was rather heartwarming to see someone like the more reserved Shay receive nothing but praise after Bling Empire aired, showing that you can be your authentic self without pandering to the drama or cameras.
