Mukesh Ambani has never touched an alcoholic drink in his life. He does not drink and he doesn’t eat meat, preferring to stick to a strict vegetarian diet.
Even so, he’s not particular about where he stops to get a bite to eat. He’s eaten everywhere from roadside stands to Mumbai’s finest restaurants. Even so, his “comfort foods” include simple dishes such as rice, dal (lentils) and chapattis, a simple flatbread made with wholemeal flour.

Mukesh Ambani is a hard worker who doesn’t waste time lazing around. He gets up between 5am and 5:30am every single day. He then heads to the gym for an invigorating workout, spends time reading the news and eats a hearty breakfast at his favourite restaurant before heading off to work.

Ambani is clearly very close to his family. He even asks for his mother’s blessing before heading out to work every single day, and he talks with his wife, Neeta, about his day at the office before going to bed.
Why hasn’t Mukesh Ambani donated much to fighting coronavirus?
What’s more, Sunday is reserved for his family, and he spends the day in the company of his mother, wife and three children. He’s also blessed with a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law as his two oldest children have already tied the knot. His youngest son, Anant, just got engaged, which means the family can expect to grow even larger in the near future.

As the head of Reliance Industries, Ambani earns US$2 million a year. The sum isn’t large considering the vast size of his company; what’s more, it’s the same salary he was earning 10 years ago.
Ambani has deliberately capped his salary, stating that he wants to set an example of moderation in managerial compensation levels. In a world where American CEOs make an average of US$15.6 million per year, Ambani’s example of moderation certainly stands out, setting him apart from the overwhelming majority of his international peers.

While Ambani is certainly a modest man in many ways, not all his hobbies are so modest. He enjoys collecting cars and currently has nearly 170 vehicles in his possession.
Some particularly noteworthy pieces include a fully bulletproof BMW 670Li that cost more than US$250,000 just to register, an Aston Martin Rapide, a Rolls-Royce Phantom, and a Bentley Continental Flying Spur.
His wife, Neeta, gave him a customised Maybach 62 for his birthday. The car, which can reach speeds of up to 249km/h, has 18-way power rear seats, wireless headphones, power side sunshades and a host of other luxurious amenities. The cars take up the first six stories of the Ambani’s luxurious 27-storey skyscraper home.
