During the Sag-Aftra and WGA strikes, much of Hollywood’s glam squads have been out of work due to cancelled press events, red carpets and film and TV shoots. While many of these professionals support the strikes, celebrity make-up artists have also been speaking up about their own challenges. Over the past five months, they’ve faced empty schedules as the protests continued. Hopefully, with WGA reaching a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) on Sunday, their calendars will begin to fill up once again. Patrick Ta The Hadid sisters consistently choose Patrick Ta for their radiant make-up looks, as he has a reputation for enhancing women’s facial features to their fullest potential. Gucci Westman After working with photographers like Annie Leibovitz and Patrick Demarchelier, Gucci Westman rose to make-up stardom thanks to her signature glowy looks done on 40-year-old-plus actresses like Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway and Gwyneth Paltrow. Daniel Martin New York-based Daniel Martin has enhanced the facial features of countless celebrities including Mindy Kaling, Jessica Biel, Gemma Chan, Priyanka Chopra and Nina Dobrev, but he is perhaps most famous for being the make-up artist of choice for Meghan Markle during her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. Ariel Tejada Kylie Jenner may be the queen of cosmetics thanks to her eponymous brand, but she learns from the best in the biz too.
