The colour of the dial is a challenge to craftsmanship

Ulysse Nardin has taken the trendy blue dial up a notch with its new Marine Tourbillon Blue Grand Feu watch. The timepiece, as part of the brand’s pre-SIHH collection, features a blue grand feu enamel dial. The particular hue is even more challenging to achieve than the regular white enamel.

“We own blue. Blue is Ulysse Nardin,” says Patrick Pruneaux, the brand’s CEO. “So it was [only natural] that we made the Marine Tourbillion, which we introduced earlier this year, with a new blue dial.”

Apart from the delicate craftsmanship, the watch – which features a self-winding UN-128 calibre with a flying tourbillon – also highlights the brand’s watchmaking expertise. The 43mm-diameter stainless steel case comes with a sapphire crystal case back and boasts a 60 hour-power reserve.

The Marine Tourbillon Blue Grand Feu watch is not the only piece that’s unveiled ahead of Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève (SIHH) in January, Ulysse Nardin has also revealed the new Marine Torpilleur Military, and a Classico Manufacture model which also has a grand feu dial.
