1. Hear me roar As we look at some of the biggest trends of next season, Roberto Cavalli's parade of tweed, leather, military shapes, animal prints and enveloping blanket coats ticks many boxes. Warning: shrinking violets should look away now. For the rest of you attention-hungry social savages, make a powerful, bold entrance this winter in a graphic print cape (HK$103,400), black silk shirt (HK$6,800), badass leather trousers (HK$36,100) and striking long Panther necklace (HK$6,800; all right). For an evening look that is almost too hot to handle, there's the Lion necklace with Swarovski crystals (HK$8,700) over the flame-patterned knitted turtleneck (HK$17,100) with slitted flapper skirt heavily embellished with feather pattern crystals (HK$71,900; all left). Roberto Cavalli is in IFC Mall, tel: 2157 1001.

2. Weave respect Bottega Veneta has ventured into casual waters with the launch of its Intrecciato Nappa shoe, following the success of the men’s version. The Italian house brings the leather-weaving technique seen on many of its designs to the loafer style du jour. The shoes are available in black or white (HK$5,700 each) and are the ultimate go-to footwear for an informal work ensemble or a weekend jaunt. Bottega Veneta is in IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2234 7078.

3. 10 out of 10 Canadian fashion house Ports 1961 has launched a bag to mark a) its first accessories collection and b) the piece de resistance that helped put the brand on the map: the No 10 blouse. The No 10 bag is the working woman’s dream: it’s minimalist and roomy, classically sleek and available in a range of muted tones that are perfect for autumn. We would snap up the No 10 carryall in taupe (left; HK$15,000) as well as one of the mini No 10s in white (right; HK$7,900). The collection will be available at the Ports 1961 Hong Kong flagship store, due to open this month at 116 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.
