5 of the best things to do in Hong Kong this weekend April 25-27, including a dog run
A Japanese ice-cream parlour’s pop-up, a chance to invest in artistic mini pouches and an opportunity to sample Hong Kong heavy metal await

Among the five best things we have found to do in Hong Kong this weekend is sampling Japanese ice cream and getting a taste of the city’s underground music scene.
1. Japan’s Harlow Ice Cream and Beyond Coffee Roasters at Snack Baby
With the warmer weather this week, there is no better time to treat yourself to a scoop or two of ice cream. While Hong Kong’s Central neighbourhood has an abundance of ice cream parlours, this weekend you’ll want to head to Snack Baby on Hollywood Road to sample Japan’s Harlow Ice Cream and Beyond Coffee Roasters.
Launched in 2017 and inspired by American ice cream shops, Harlow Ice Cream has a following in the Japanese cities of Tokyo and Kobe thanks to its high-quality ice cream, made with cream from Hokkaido served in freshly made cones, and its baked goods. It has collaborated with brands such as Sacai and Netflix.

For its pop-up on April 25 and 26, it is bringing its signature waffle cones and ice cream flavours such as miso black sesame and lavender strawberry hojicha.
To accompany your scoops, grab a coffee or coffee cocktail from Kobe’s Beyond Coffee Roasters’ master roaster and bartender Daisuke Kimura, who is famed for creations including the Espresso Martini, for which he uses an ancient Japanese amaro – a herbal liqueur – and aromatic osmanthus water from Kyoto.

2. Paws and Paces: Run for Paws
Personal trainer Aileen Wong, also known as #thedogrunner, invites dog owners to join a 3km or 5km walk/jog/run – with their pets – and to donate to the Hong Kong Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
