5 of the best things to do in Hong Kong this weekend, December 6-8, for you and your pets
A flea market for finding some quirky gifts, a pet market and a music festival are among the draws this weekend. Or you can try aerial yoga
A couple of themed markets and a music festival are just some of the highlights if you are in Hong Kong this weekend and looking for things to see, do, buy or eat and places to go.
1. The Bay Market
After a postponement at the end of October because of Typhoon Trami, The Bay Market is back, and scheduled for December 7. The flea market selling secondhand goods is perfect for finding quirky and artisanal gifts, and the food and drinks line-up will keep shoppers well fuelled from 12 to 7pm.
On the menu are hearty sandwiches from Central’s Croque, dumplings and noodles from Amaze Dumplings, and roast rib-eye and honey-roasted gammon sandwiches from Enoteca.
Unique to the market will be the Mlem Pani Puri Bar, which will be serving its signature crispy shells filled with potato and moong bean, as well as samosa chaat with guava pickle, and a limited serving of rasmalai basbousa, a hybrid dessert combining Egyptian basbousa al-ashta cake and East Indian rasmalai.
Winstons will be on deck to serve coffees, while those looking for something a bit harder will find options at the The Wine Guild or Hong Kong Beer Company stalls.
Belcher Bay, Kennedy Town. Saturday December 7, 12pm-7pm.
2. A ‘paw’fect Christmas at Central Market
Hong Kong’s pet economy is booming, with cafes and boutiques popping up all over the city. But for the best treat this festive season, Central Market is the place to be.
