1. A Small Potato Dinner at More Good
On Sunday July 21, the home-grown charity More Good will be hosting A Small Potato Dinner at its Chai Wan headquarters to raise funds for its More Good Foundation, which helps vulnerable communities through providing cooked-meal boxes.
Chefs Mikey Silva, David Holmberg and Tara Villanueva will be cooking a seven-course family-style feast that includes dishes such as potato salad, mochi doughnut, bone marrow croquette and even a seafood tower.

2. 100% Doraemon & Friends Café
Doraemon fever is everywhere, and K11 Musea’s Artisan Lounge by Lubuds is the spot for a highly photogenic afternoon tea featuring sweet treats and drinks inspired by the futuristic blue cartoon robot cat.
Doraemon’s likeness adorns items such as red bean dorayaki and the hot latte.

3. Chef Andrew Wong at Fortnum & Mason
Private chef Andrew Wong is only 21 years old, but is catching the attention of local food lovers with his polished cooking. From now until 17 August, diners can enjoy his food in a public setting at 181, Fortnum & Mason’s in-house restaurant; Wong has included some of his signature dishes on the menu, among them his confit garlic and rosemary focaccia, and beetroot and dill smoked salmon with horseradish-infused yogurt.

4. The Opposites
If you haven’t had enough to drink this past week already with the Asia’s 50 Best Bars-related festivities, then head to this cocktail bar newly opened by veteran bartenders Antonio Lai and Samuel Kwok.
The Opposites takes the idea of iconic cocktails (such as the pisco sour, Boulevardier and Charlie Chaplin) and presents two alternatives – Kwok’s take on the classic, and Lai’s more conceptual update. Bar snacks are Hong Kong-inspired, with the likes of spicy cod croquettes (an ode to curry fishballs) and “hot wave” seasoned fries.

5. Golden Gip
Head east this weekend to this new restaurant in Sai Wan Ho from Censu Crew, a collective of Asian restaurants that also includes the titular Censu in Hong Kong and Tokyo, as well as Enishi teppanyaki in Central.
Golden Gip is headed by chef Nigel Kim, previously the head chef at Censu Hong Kong, and it’s where he is presenting a fun and contemporary take on Asian cuisine with a Korean twist for the next three months.
Dishes include Korean fried chicken, GG cheeseburger, and crispy aubergine seasoned with sesame seeds and sansho pepper.
