Video: A fun clash of food cultures - Vegemite versus pickled pork

Call it a clash of food cultures, or a bit of fun.

While in Hong Kong this week, winner of Junior MasterChef Australia, Greta Yaxley, confronted a challenge from two Young Post reporters.

They asked Greta, 12, to eat a traditional Hong Kong dish - pork leg pickled in traditional wine, huadiao jiu.

In return, Greta challenged the reporters -- Dristi Gurung (left in the video) and Janet Tam -- to try Australian Vegemite. This is a concentrated yeast extract that looks like tar. Some people say Vegemite also tastes like tar.

Janet is a university student in Hong Kong, and Dristi, 14, attends Saint Margaret's Girls' College.
