Pre-holiday pampering: Melo Spa at Hyatt Regency Sha Tin’s frangipani-focused package will leave you relaxed and refreshed
Start with a hibiscus body scrub, move onto a rejuvenating massage and top it all off with a scalp massage and ginger tea … do we need to say more?
Melo Spa at the Hyatt Regency Sha Tin has come up with one of the best ways to pamper yourself (or someone special) for the holidays.
Until the end of the month, the spa is offering a Nourishing Winter Retreat; a great way to relax during this hectic period, using Elemis products featuring the tropical flower frangipani.
I start the 80-minute treatment by being wrapped up in a soft Kashwere dressing gown, before soaking my feet in warm water, that has been infused with salts and essential oil, for a few minutes. This is all while sipping hot lemon tea.

Then I move to the heated massage table for the “silky body glow”, where a therapist uses a scrub made of hibiscus and mineral-rich salts to exfoliate my skin and Tahitian monoi oil and frangipani flowers to seal in moisture. The therapist gently rubs the scrub on almost every part of the body, minus the face and chest, for 25 minutes.
I am reminded that if you exercise regularly, exfoliating is good for the skin, something I’ve neglected to do for a long, long time … another thing to add back onto the beauty regimen.
Afterwards, I rinse off the scrub in the shower. The scrub treatment alone is so relaxing that I would have blissed out from there, but it isn’t over yet.
