The cute cover by guitarist Ujang Ijon and his three-year-old daughter, Audrey – who live on Labuan Island off the coast of Sabah state in East Malaysia – has received more than 1.3 million views since being uploaded to Facebook on Sunday.

The lyrics of Killing in the Name are about institutional racism and police brutality, and the track featured on Rage Against the Machine’s self-titled debut album in 1992. It has now become the band’s signature song.

Despite the heavy subject matter, Audrey manages to sweeten lyrics such as “Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses” and “Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they’re the chosen whites”. The video ends before the pair get to the song’s famed outro: “F*** you, I won’t do what you tell me.”

Morello, the alternative metal band’s guitarist, posted the cover version on his Instagram page this week, with the headline “Quite possibly the hardest cover of this song ever” and the caption “Preach, sista, preach!”
