Taiwanese director Gavin Lin’s More Than Blue is a remake of a South Korean hit of the same name released in 2009. In this tear-jerker, Jasper Liu plays K, a terminally ill musician, and Ivy Chen is Cream, his childhood friend and a lyricist.
The plot appears to be a bit trite but the film has been popular nonetheless due to its inspiring, touching details and its cast.

Jasper Liu Yi-hao
Liu is a Taiwanese actor, model and musician who was born in 1986. His first role of note was in the Taiwanese television drama series In Time with You, in which he played Mei Nam, a high-school classmate of the characters played by lead actors Ariel Lin and Bolin Chen.
In 2013, he played the leading role of Allen in the Taiwanese TV drama series The Patisserie with No Name. In the same year, he co-starred with Vivian Hsu, Matt Wu and Peggy Tseng in the Taiwanese comic film Sex AGoGo, his first role on the big screen. In addition to his acting career, he is the guitarist in Taiwanese band Morning Call. The band writes and produces their own songs, and have made multiple tours of Asia.



Ivy Chen Yi-han
Chen is a Taiwanese actress who made her screen debut in the 2006 film The Road in the Air. She was recognised by Chinese audiences for her role in the inspirational Chinese television drama series Struggle. In 2010, Chen won best actress at the Global Chinese Awards in Taiwan for her performance as a deaf girl in Hear Me.
In August 2018, Chen married Taiwanese filmmaker Hsu Fu-hsiang, the director of The Patisserie with No Name. Chen appeared in the second season of the Chinese reality television show Divas Hit the Road. Viewers in China like her for her open-minded and optimistic personality.

Gavin Lin Hsiao-chien
As a director, Lin is good at fleshing out the characters in his movies. His short film Liberty Avenue, shot in the United States, won the first prize and the best editing prize at the 2005 Golden Harvest Awards.
