Yellow Face

Poking fun at tense and racially charged situations is what Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang is good at doing. In Yellow Face, which debuted in Los Angeles in 2007 and is brought to the stage in Hong Kong by Pants Theatre Production, Hwang’s semi-autobiographical lead and playwright unknowingly casts a white actor to play an Asian, and spends the rest of the story trying to cover up and later atone for his errors.

In Cantonese with Chinese and English surtitles. January 22-23, 7.45pm, January 23-24, 2.45pm, Hong Kong City Hall, 5 Edinburgh Place, Central, HK$180, HK$240 Urbtix. Inquiries: 2419 9789
