It has been a bit of a grey week with plenty of rain after last weekend’s typhoon, but there are plenty of indoor events to raise your spirits this weekend, regardless of the conditions outside.
Head to The Peak to meet some adorable puppies, or explore a Mamegoma exhibition in Tsim Sha Tsui. If music is more your thing, a night of Latin tunes this Saturday awaits – or try out a natural wine and vinyl session on Sunday if you are looking for something slower-paced.

1. Raveton – The Latin Rave
This Saturday, at Boomerang in Central, Latin rhythms meet rave music in an electrifying event.
From 10pm to 1am, smooth Reggaeton beats blended with thumping rave tracks will create a unique experience for ravers across Hong Kong.
While the performance ends at 1am, the resident DJs will keep the party going until 4am, offering an all-night experience for guests who wish to stay.
General admission tickets are HK$250 (US$32), and tickets at the door are HK$300. Early bird tickets at HK$200 are available for the first 50 tickets sold. To learn more about the event, click here.

2. Puppy Pilates: Coffee and Cakes

A trio of puppy Pilates classes is being organised on August 2 by Flow & Friends featuring therapy dogs from The Puppy Lounge.
The pups will roam around during each 45-minute Pilates class, and after the workout, guests can enjoy cake bento boxes with coffee and continue to play with the puppies.
The boxes from Baking Maniac come in five flavours: lemon blueberry, confetti, cookies and cream, hazelnut, and red velvet. Guests can delight in the sky-high views while sipping coffee and basking in the company of pups.

3. Sunday Service Vinyl and Wine Sundowners
This Sunday, Dead Poets and La Cabane are joining forces to present a night of free-flowing natural wine and fine records.
For two hours, DJ Brahms will work his magic while guests enjoy free-flowing natural wines and speciality snacks.
After the free-flow, it is time for a half-hour of Bring Your Own Vinyl (BYOV), where guests can bring their personal records for Brahms to spin.
The event will be held at Dead Poets from 5pm to 7.30pm. Tickets cost HK$320. Click here to learn more about the event.

4. iSquare x Mamegoma A Midsummer Fantasy Journey with Cute Seal Pups

From July 31 to September 13, the iSquare shopping centre is partnering with San-X’s Mamegoma to create an installation made up of three installations to celebrate the beloved mini seal characters.
At iPiazza, a gigantic dolphin-shaped Mamegoma standing nearly six metres (20 feet) high will take centre stage. A Mamegoma pastry chef will be on display at iFunction and there will be a Mamegoma chilling in a bathtub in the iExhibition lobby.
There will also be a Mamegoma pop-up store and a midsummer market featuring a variety of Mamegoma merchandise on August 1-2 and 29-30. To learn more about the event, click here.

5. Spider-Man: Brand New Day


“People like us don’t get to live a normal life,” Sadie Sink says in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Stranger Things star is addressing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who in this film faces the most intriguing antagonist across his four solo outings to date. But – like us?
The identity of Sink’s character has been kept a secret in the run-up to release – and will not be revealed here. However, her game-changing arrival will surely make fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) lose their minds.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and this year’s Marvel TV hit Wonder Man.
He clearly gets Spider-Man – from delivering the visceral thrills of the web-slinger swinging all over Manhattan (with some great point-of-view shots) to the humour and romance that come with Parker’s relationship with best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) and love-of-his-life MJ (Zendaya).
