It's perhaps the only time a woman would be happy to walk into a room and see someone else with the same dress.

Twenty-four designs selected by Marc Jacobs himself went on display at the Landmark last Friday night as part of a six-month celebration of some of the label's defining creations.

The pieces span more than a dozen seasons, extending back to the 2005 spring/summer collection. Highlights included a silver party dress inspired by American prom dresses and a brown-bodice, avant-garde catwalk dress from the 2005 autumn collection.

The pieces will be on display for about two months, followed by a second collection of selections. The third round will feature highlights of the label's advertising campaigns throughout the years.

Most onlookers eyed the pieces with the glazed-over look of one pondering an unattainable dream, but for actress Gigi Leung Wing-kei, it was like visiting old friends.

"There are some pieces here which I've actually worn before," she said. "One, the green one, I wore to a New York fashion week and the other, I wore in a magazine shoot.
