Yamazato offers the height of Japanese fine dining in Macau
Kaiseki meals are elevated to new heights at Yamazato in Macau offering great food and great views
There are an increasing number of Japanese dining options in Macau, but Yamazato, located on the 28th floor of Hotel Okura, is the only restaurant serving kaiseki meals.
This highly refined style of dining, which is often tailor made, has evolved from the elaborate Zen Buddhist tea ceremony of the 16th century, and is viewed as the ultimate expression of Japanese cuisine. It usually involves a multicourse meal using only the finest seasonal ingredients and cooking techniques, drawing comparisons to tasting menus and Western-style haute cuisine.
Decked out with wooden ceilings and Japanese minimalist design, the restaurant makes for a traditional setting and its high location offers some of the best views in Macau.
Chief executive chef, Mr. Akira Hayashi, from Kyoto Japan, is at the helm and he is famous for his kaiseki-ryōri sets. He has carefully worked out some superb dishes for guests using only the most seasonal and prime ingredients available.
