Jacob’s cable entry system solutions push innovation boundaries
- Jacob remains a medium-sized business, but its products can be found in nearly every corner of the world

Now in its fourth generation of leadership, the Jacob family company has nearly a century of expertise in cable sealing and clamping solutions. With its products finding their way everywhere from cabinets to machine building, automation systems, e-mobility solutions, railway and energy, Jacob is proud to be working closely with clients in almost every industry in developing breakthroughs that make a difference to the customer.
Our product is part of our client’s product. That fact speaks volumes about our quality, which can only be attested by our long and deep relationships – many spanning more than 50 years – with clients and partners such as Siemens and ABB
Among these innovations is the cable entry system KADL, especially designed where multiple pre-terminated cables go into an enclosure or cabinet. The modular structure is flexible for applications from three to 25 cables. KADL is installed with one click – easy and time-saving due to the tool-free entry and connection technology.
“Our product is part of our client’s product,” says general manager Bernd Bohl. “That fact speaks volumes about our quality, which can only be attested by our long and deep relationships – many spanning more than 50 years – with clients and partners such as Siemens and ABB.”
Today, the company, located near Stuttgart, remains a medium-sized business, but its products can be found in nearly every corner of the world. It has reinforced its research and development initiatives by investing in an in-house laboratory where it can test its products against all weather conditions, temperatures, stress and other performance factors.
“This gives us the capability and distinct advantage of innovating, in-house testing and adapting products exactly as clients require,” Bohl says.
Driven by the continuing industrialisation in markets such as China and Asia, machine building is one of Jacob’s most important market segments. The company is also serving emerging markets in growing industries such as electric vehicles and green energy, which it believes will continue pushing innovation boundaries.
“Our focus is on China and India, and in the near future, Thailand and Vietnam, through our China subsidiary Jacob Electronic Components (Shanghai), which has been supplying the Asian market since 2011,” Bohl says.
“We welcome long-term relationships based on good communication, respect and creativity.”
