In 2021, half of the top 10 letters dealt with various aspects of the pandemic, as Covid-19 continued to spread around the world, Hong Kong committed to a zero-Covid policy and Singapore opted to live with the virus. Also among the leading topics of concern were China-Australia relations, civil rights in Canada, and emigration from Hong Kong. Here, then, are the most popular letters of the year.
