Wealth management provider Wrise Prestige is stepping up its investment in artificial intelligence technology as the firm looks to expand its footprint on the Chinese mainland and power its next phase of growth.
The Singapore-headquartered firm planned to open an AI laboratory in Guangzhou next month to house its technology team, following a HK$30 million internal investment in AI-related development, senior executives said during a media briefing marking the company’s second anniversary in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
The initiative will focus on building enterprise systems and streamlining operational efficiency across the group, with further capital expenditure planned for future tech initiatives, according to the company.
Henry Shin, the company’s chief executive, said the plan aimed to merge technology with professional expertise rather than replace human advisers.
“AI is meant to empower our business operations and elevate service efficiency, but the human wealth consultant remains the absolute core of our client relationships,” Shin said.
The firm is moving from an “independent wealth consultant” to an “intelligent wealth consultant” model, according to Shin, which pairs human judgment with AI-driven research and analytics.
“Independence remains a core pillar of the business,” Shin added, stressing that technology allowed advisers to objectively help clients select and design financial solutions.
The initiative aligns with a broader push across Hong Kong’s financial sector to integrate AI into wealth management and capital markets.

Regulators have been encouraging responsible adoption while urging financial institutions to prepare for a coming wave of autonomous systems. Earlier this month, a senior official at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) noted at an industry event that the watchdog was considering further regulatory guidance for financial firms deploying autonomous “agentic” AI systems.
The company said its Hong Kong business had expanded rapidly since launching in 2024, with assets under management rising 927 per cent, revenue increasing 301 per cent and client numbers growing 382 per cent compared with the end of 2024. Its network has grown to more than 400 wealth consultants.
Beyond Hong Kong, the group was expanding its mainland presence with offices in Shenzhen, Chengdu, Changsha and Wuxi, focusing on investor outreach, research and family office education, the executives said.
“Trillions of yuan in wealth will undergo intergenerational transfer in the domestic market in the coming years,” Shin said, pointing to rising demand for succession planning and advisory services.
The expansion comes as Hong Kong reinforces its position as a global hub for private wealth. Total assets under management in the city’s private banking and wealth management sector rose 24 per cent year on year to HK$12.9 trillion at the end of 2025, according to SFC data.
