Alibaba Group Holding chairman Joe Tsai and Adrian Cheng Chi-kong, the former CEO of New World Development, will be among the influential business leaders and financiers speaking at the Wealth for Good in Hong Kong Summit next week.

According to a statement released on Thursday by the Hong Kong government, other speakers include Steve Davis of the Gates Foundation; Horst Bente, founder of the US-based multifamily office ADLEGACY; Swarovski International Holding vice-chairman Robert Buchbauer; and James Peng from Pony.ai, a Guangzhou-based start-up. The summit is part of the city’s effort to position itself as a global wealth management centre and a key hub for family offices.

The summit’s theme is “Hong Kong of the world, for the world”.

Co-organised by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and InvestHK, the third edition of the summit will exploit Hong Kong’s strong ties with China and other markets around the world to promote innovation, investment and sustainable economic growth, the statement said.

“Participants from Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa will join mainland and Hong Kong attendees at the event and exchange insights,” it said.

“World-class speakers and decision-makers of family offices are going to gather here in Hong Kong to explore how the city’s strategic advantages can shape a brighter future and build legacy,” said Christopher Hui Ching-yu, the secretary for financial services and the treasury.
