​​Ryan Rafaty

​​Ryan Rafaty is a political scientist and political economist at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, where he works on climate policy impact assessment with the Climate Econometrics project. He is also a senior research officer at Oxford’s Institute for New Economic Thinking. Previously, Ryan obtained his PhD at the University of Cambridge and was a climate economics consultant at the World Bank. His research has been published in various journals, including Science, Nature Climate Change and Global Environmental Politics, among others.

A study has found that the central government’s policy framework is already suitable for facilitating a rapid curbing of coal market development, but the incentive structure for local governments and state-owned enterprises needs to be improved.
