Juan José Morales is an entrepreneur and historian. Born in Madrid, he has lived in Hong Kong for almost 30 years and has been chairman of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. He has a master of international and public affairs from the University of Hong Kong and studied international affairs at Peking University. He is co-author of Painter and Patron: The Maritime Silk Road in the Códice Casanatense and The Silver Way: China, Spanish America and the Birth of Globalisation, 1565-1815.
