Dr Bosco Chan is conservation director at WWF-Hong Kong, and has been leading high-impact conservation projects throughout southern China and Cambodia over the past 20 years. He is currently the continental coordinator for East Asia of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Species Survival Commission Otter Specialist Group, and a member of several other IUCN Species Survival Commission specialist groups.

Considering the harm done to biodiversity, authorities should ban the trade of non-native pet species that are invasive, dangerous or difficult to care for.
