Monde Chocolatier on the 10th floor is an interesting discovery: a combined coffee shop and hand-made chocolate emporium. Run by two brothers and operating in Horizon Plaza since 2005, there is no mass assembly line - just artisans busy creating a small number of edible works of art. Take a seat, order a coffee and treat your senses with a selection of exquisite hand-crafted confections. Unusual fillings include organic macadamia nut, sesame, ginger juice, cinnamon, candied orange peel and even Earl Grey tea in chocolate ganache.
If you're open to unexpected flavour combinations, try the Fourm? d'Ambert - blue cheese encased in dark chocolate topped by a pecan. It shouldn't work, but somehow it does. Likewise, the Swiss white-chocolate infused with Japanese green tea is a cross-cultural taste success. The luxury chocolates are available for standard and gift orders in 10-, 12-, 15- and 24-piece boxes, and special custom-designed pieces can be made for weddings and other celebrations.
