As strange as it might sound, the government runs a quirky, cartoon-filled website about Hong Kong's compulsory retirement investment scheme, the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF). The site revolves around a group of five bouncy characters who dispense information about various MPF funds over a looped ragtime soundtrack. It includes everything from tools for calculating retirement needs and accrued benefits to a games corner.

The Motley Fool, an investment website, hosts an excellent collection of articles about retirement planning. Articles cover its ins and outs from a multitude of angles in an easy-to-read style that helps clarify some of the trickier aspects of the subject. Topics include asset allocation for building a perfect portfolio, knowing when to cash out and common investment myths. While some of the advice is US-specific, much of it is broad enough to cover Hongkongers.
