Artist Ai Weiwei held

Top mainland artist Ai Weiwei (right) was arrested on Sunday in Beijing. The government said Ai was suspected of economic crimes. Ai, who has been featured in Young Post for his work at the Tate Modern gallery in London, is best known for helping to design Beijing's famous 'Bird's Nest' Olympic stadium. Ai's arrest caused an international outcry. The central government has cracked down on dissidents lately as activists called for a Jasmine Revolution like those in the Middle East.
