This hidden gem, tucked away in the relative quiet of Tsim Sha Tsui's K11 mall, specialises in premium beef from across the globe. It features different cuts from countries such as Canada, Japan, and Ireland. Steik dry ages its meat according to its region and cattle type, as each has a distinctive flavour and texture. The Steik World tasting plate (HK$768, main) offers a taste sensation smorgasbord for two on a Le Creuset hotplate, featuring pasture-fed Scottish sirloin, which is leaner, the American corn fed ribeye, which has more fat, and Australian wagyu tenderloin, which is extremely tender and flavourful. There is an extensive side selection of potatoes, salads and vegetables, and the duck-fat roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes (HK$46) are highly recommended. The experience is a must for beef aficionados from selecting a personalised steak knife, to the generous portions and the ability to customise condiments from seven house sauces and an array of mustards. There are seafood and white meat options. The lobster thermidor (HK$395) uses a live American Boston lobster, which is split and grilled with chunks of lobster meat placed back in its shell. It is served with a refreshing salad and crisp fries which have been cooked to perfection. For starters, the Steik Assiette for two (HK$288) is a good option with a varied blend of complementing tastes including the house smoked salmon, seared Japanese scallops with Thai green curry butter, scotched quail eggs, iberico ham and chicken liver and foie gras parfait. To cap it off add the sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and macadamia nut ice cream (HK$68). The sorbet trio with vanilla cotton candy (HK$68) is a decadent yet light and refreshing treat. The wine list is extensive ranging from a glass of red or white at HK$50 to a bottle of Krug, Brut Vintage (1995/98), Remis at HK$3,480. Steik constantly updates its menu to ensure freshness, quality stock rotation and to stay current with food trends. It is running a Welsh organic meat promotion until the end of this month and also has set lunch and dinner options.
