The government of Zhenjiang, in southwestern Jiangsu province, has partnered with Nokia Siemens Networks to help implement a so-called 'machine-to-machine' communications infrastructure in the city. The project will automate the ability of wired and wireless networks to communicate with relevant electronic devices. These include intelligent transport systems that remotely manage, track and monitor taxis on the road, and remote medical monitoring services. 'This is a strategic partnership aimed at creating a hi-tech city,' said Gui Qiliang, a Zhenjiang official.
