Hong Kong Tourism Board is holding its third New Year Countdown Celebrations and everyone's invited. An LED display on the outside of Two IFC will count down to the new year. When midnight strikes, a dazzling fireworks show will be launched from the top of the building, and from nine other landmark buildings on Hong Kong Island.

Members of the public can watch the show from outside the Cultural Centre or along the harbour front. Alternatively, if the idea of mingling with the crowds isn't your cup of tea, the event will be broadcast live on TVB.

Like in New York, Times Square is always a hot choice to see in the new year. This year, RTHK is organising the celebration under the theme of 'Love Hong Kong', with a three-hour musical extravaganza. Try your luck on the day, and queue up to join the fun, or visit www.rthk.org.hk to watch the live broadcast from the comfort of your home.

At Elements above Kowloon Station, Spanish dance group Los Vivancos will give its debut Hong Kong performance. The group, which has won awards around the world, draws on diverse sources, from flamenco ballet and acrobatics, to break dancing and martial arts.
