Sun Hung Kai Properties and Henderson Land Development are close working partners, even down to jointly sponsoring the New Year's Eve fireworks display at their co-owned Two IFC.
But sometimes they can be too close, as has happened with both picking the same morning for their shareholders' meetings.
Tomorrow SHK Properties will host its annual general meeting at its Wan Chai headquarters at noon, half an hour after Henderson Land starts its meeting at the Four Seasons.
This creates a problem for Henderson Land chairman Lee Shau-kee (left) who is also vice-chairman of SHK Properties. We doubt if financial reporters will allow one of the city's most accessible stock tipsters to leave early for another shareholders' meeting.
Records show Lee did not attend the SHK Properties meeting last year, the last time the two firms held their shareholders' gatherings on the same date.
