Steven Lam Tsz-fung's hopes of winning the Asian Amateur Championship - and earning a Masters berth awarded to the champion - were dashed after a lacklustre third round at Mission Hills Golf Club yesterday. The 16-year-old St Joseph's College student, who started the round six shots behind the leaders, struggled with his putter to post a 75 for a three-day total of 216. Lam lies in a share of 22nd, 10 shots behind South Korea's Han Chang-won, who will take a two-shot lead into the final day over compatriot Eric Chun. Jordan Sherratt of Australia lies third.
